Childhood obesity is a growing public health challenge both in the UK and globally. In England, recent data shows that approximately 26.8% of children aged 2 to 15 are overweight or living with obesity, with around 9.6% of reception-aged children and over 22% of Year 6 pupils living with obesity. Worldwide, around one in ten children and adolescents are living with obesity, and one in five are classified as overweight, highlighting the scale of the issue.
At 360 Vision, we aim to break down barriers to accessing all forms of health and wellbeing, including positive movement and engaging games that build confidence, character, respect and team spirit.
Barclays Sport
360 Vision CIC is proud to report a partnership with Barclays, who provided funding to support after-school football sessions for girls in Slough. This initiative formed part of our ongoing commitment to increasing access to sport, confidence-building activities and inclusive opportunities for young people across the community. Thanks to Barclays’ support, girls who attended the programme not only benefited from high-quality weekly coaching, but also received a football top to encourage participation, belonging and pride. 360 did this to remove financial barriers for families and this enabled girls to engage fully in structured, positive and empowering sporting activity. Coaching delivered by Sonny and Kaka, both highly experienced community coaches. Sonny coaches for Maidenhead FC and Kaka, a former professional Afghan footballer, works with Slough Town FC and brought a depth of experience, skill and cultural representation that resonated strongly within the local community. Together, they created a safe, fun and inspiring environment where girls developed technical skills, built confidence and enjoyed being active. The impact of the sessions was reflected in feedback from participants:
“I really enjoyed the girls-only football sessions. It was fantastic playing with just other girls, and the coaches from Active 360 and Slough Football Club were so positive and encouraging. They made every session fun and full of energy.”This collaboration reflects 360 Vision CIC’s ongoing mission to widen access to opportunities for children and young people, and to provide programmes that supported health, wellbeing and community engagement. We are grateful to Barclays for recognising the importance of creating inclusive, meaningful and sustainable sporting pathways for girls in Slough.
“These sessions were the highlight of my week. The coaches were friendly and motivating, and it was so nice to have a space where only girls played football. It made the experience really enjoyable and inclusive.”
FA Berk & Bucks
We’re excited to be working alongside Berks & Bucks FA to provide free after-school football sessions for schools across Slough. Through this initiative, we’re delivering high-quality coaching at no cost to families, removing financial barriers so more children can take part in regular sport. These sessions offer a fun, structured space for young people to build confidence, teamwork and fitness, while creating positive routines after school. Our coaches are proud to be part of this programme, and we’re looking forward to seeing the long-term wellbeing and healthy outcomes continue to grow for the children and communities we serve.
